Implant Restorations
Fixed - non removable, cemented and screwed
- Single Tooth Restorations - A single tooth prosthesis is a crown that can be either screwed or cemented on the implant abutment. It is used to replace one missing tooth and may be fabricated as a complete ceramic abutment and crown or a metal abutment with a metal substructure porcelain crown.
- Partial or Complete Arch Restorations - A partial prosthesis, also known as a fixed bridge, can replace two or more teeth and may require only two or three implants. A complete dental prosthesis replaces the missing teeth in your upper or lower jaw. The number of implants varies depending upon which type of complete prosthesis is recommended. The complete fixed restoration allows for maximum versatility in reconstruction of function and facial aesthetics.
Removable - bar and locators
A removable prosthesis (over denture) attaches to a bar or locator attachments, whereas a fixed prosthesis is permanent and removable only by the dentist.
- Removable Bar Prosthesis - A bar is used to splint multiple implants for support. A retentive device is attached to the bar to enhance the retention of the prosthesis to the bar. Generally, the removable prosthesis is a complete over denture but it can be limited to a narrow arch form with no flanges under the lips or coverage of the palate. The narrow arch form prosthesis needs additional implants for support as the bar completely supports the chewing load and not the tissue. The fewer the number of implants will require some support of the tissue for the prosthesis in addition to extension of the prosthesis to cover the palate and added flanges.
- Removable Locator Prosthesis - A locator is an attachment placed on a single implant to retain the complete removable over denture prosthesis. Generally, two implants are used to retain the prosthesis but additional implants and locators can be used to enhance retention of the prosthesis. The locator gives support on chewing but the tissue is also used to support the prosthesis.
Custom Milled Dental Restorations
Copings used for all ceramic crowns and frameworks used for bridges and implant restorations are custom milled for an accurate fit to the teeth or implant. These milling procedures assure a stronger and exact fitting restoration.
Customized Shading and Contouring of Implant Restorations
Our on-site laboratory technicians check the shade and contours of the teeth to be restored or replaced before treatment begins to assure a detailed prescription for the fabrication of the restoration. At the final seating of the restoration and prior to placement, our technician again rechecks the shade and contours of the restoration before final seating. These added steps by the technician provide a valuable service to the aesthetic outcome of the final restoration.
- Our master technician performs a chair side consultation to determine the correct shade and contours for the restoration.
- On delivery of the restoration, customized shading of the restoration will be performed chair side and the patient will approve of the restoration before it is delivered.
- A try in of a complete and partial restoration will be performed to assure a correct bite, an aesthetic outcomes and proper facial support prior to final delivery of the restoration.
